The customer had aluminium windows which were 10-15 years old and was getting extreme condensation as the pictures shows. The solution to this problem was to replace the bottom pane with a triple low E glazing to reduce the condensation to a minimum and increase airflow.
It is a very common situation for us where we must help a client comply with safety regulations. The picture above shows a new set of stainless steel restricted hinges (the Press buttons) it stops young kids from falling out the window. The press button can only be pushed when outward pressure is taken off so it’s a safety feature for kids.
Recently we had a job where we retrofitted trickle vents onto aluminium windows which were fitted in a room with poor ventilation. This was an alternative to the costly procedure of drilling the walls for vents. These vents were more than adequate for this job and the client was left very happy indeed.
On this job, we fitted mechanical window winders at the Carraiganore WIT campus. This ensured that windows could be safely opened and closed from the ground. Previous to this, it was necessary to use a ladder for this operation. This type is fitting can be retro fitted to many window types and creates a much safer work environment.
